So since we had a long weekend with last Friday being some random holiday, I headed to Connecticut to visit my sister at Quinnipiac University. I must say it was a beautiful school though considerably smaller than SU. I got there and left again within a half hour to go to a hockey game against Harvard at the Hartford Civic Center. IT was a lot of fun, but the best part of it was that I got free thunder sticks. So I got to spend two hours making lots of noise and heckling Harvard players. Quinni won, so it was a good result. Nothing happened afterwards, I was tired from the drive plus it was getting late.
Next day Kate showed me around campus and we got breakfast in their dining hall. Much better than SU's halls in many ways, though not nearly as much selection from what I saw. Maybe I didnt look hard enough. Afterwards we went for a hike in Sleeping Giant State Park right next to campus. It ended up being more mountain climbing than hiking, with some good steep rock faces and climbing along rock ledges. That, and there were about 80,000 boy scouts and parents around climbing and hiking as well. They kept offering to walk any old ladies we had across the street or build us fires and shelters, but I didnt have an old lady handy and didnt need a fire, so I sent them on their way. Alright, not all of that was true. Still, tons of scouts on the mountain competing for space on the trails. Still had a good time, though we were really tired. Thats what happens when you consider youself an expert hiker.
Afterwards we went bowling, then to dinner, which was on Dad, so we spent a bit, but it was pretty good. Rented "The Life Aquatic" which I found amusing, but Kate thought was weird. Were tired again, so went to bed, got up, went to breakfast, and headed home. Had a good time, but had lots to do back in Cuse. Looking forward to seeing my sister on Thanksgiving, but don't want to rush my time here. Turns out I missed people a lot. Anyhow, now back to work.
